Summary

Leeds weather forecast for Day 4 of the ongoing Test match between England and India at the Headingley.

ENG vs IND: Rain Threat on Day 4 of Headingley Test - Latest Leeds Weather Forecast

India began strong at Headingley, posting a mammoth 471 in the first innings of the series-opener, thanks to centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant. However, a dramatic collapse then followed as India lost the last seven wickets for just 41 runs. England fought back, finishing at 465 on the back of Ollie Pope’s century and Harry Brook's 99.

India's bowlers were not quite clinical. But Jasprit Bumrah restored balance with a stunning five-wicket haul, his 14th in Test cricket.

By stumps on Day 3, India resumed cautiously in their second innings at 90/2, holding a lead of 96 runs. KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 47 runs, while captain Shubman Gill was on six before light showers ended play early.

Rain Watch in Headingley: Can India and England Dodge the Drizzle?

Despite scattered clouds and intermittent showers, the weather today appears mostly cooperative for cricket. Rain might affect the morning session around 11 AM to 12 PM and gusty winds might aid bowlers in swinging the ball.

This contrasts previous downpours as rain only hit late on Day 2 and Day 3. Forecasts now hint at minimal rain risk in the afternoon and evening with just 3-4 per cent probability as per AccuWeather.

What It Means for India and England?

For India, Day 4 is a chance to move ahead in the match. Rahul and Gill have the opportunity to bat England out of the game. The onus will be on the middle-order to avoid another collapse like the first innings. If India can stretch the lead beyond 350, they could give their bowlers a good cushion.

England, meanwhile, will be desperate to make early inroads. With the pitch not yet deteriorating, the first hour could prove decisive. If they manage to knock over India cheaply, a target under 300 will make them the favourites.
