Team India made a terrific comeback on day 5 of the fifth Test at The Oval to win the match by just six runs and draw the series 2-2. India were trailing 2-1 in the series and needed to win the Test match to level the series and they did.
England needed 35 runs to win the Test match on day 5 after bad light stopped play on day 4. This meant that India had another day to put up a fight and they did not disappoint. Mohammed Siraj took five wickets, including taking the final wicket and won the Player Of The match award.
England lost their last four wickets for just 28 runs with Siraj picking three of the last four wickets to fall. He ended the series with 23 wickets, the most by any bowler in this series. Final Moments of India's Win At The Oval
Siraj dismissed Gus Atkinson to win the match for India. The England pacer had his sights set on taking his team to a memorable victory with his team nine down and Chris Woakes coming out to bat.
Atkinson farmed the strike tactically and was facing Siraj in the 86th over of their innings when he lost his wicket. It was a case of so near and yet so far for England who dominated for the majority of this Test.
However, one has to say that the result was an ideal one, given how the Test match was played. India won more sessions than England in this series and thus it is justified that the series has ended 2-2.
However, with the match going into day 5, India came out with renewed vigour and zeal to win the Test match and Siraj and Krishna gave their everything in the first hour on the final day. The Twitterverse celebrated India’s brilliant win. They praised the Indian team for the fight they showed throughout this match and the series. A few former cricketers also praised the Indian team for their performance throughout the series.

Siraj Speaks About Dropping Brook's Catch
After the game, the Indian players lauded Chris Woakes, who came out to bat with an injured shoulder, looking to do his bit for his team’s win. However, India kept their cool and seized their moments. It was thus fitting that Siraj, who had dropped Harry Brook on 19, took the final wicket to fall for England. Brook and Joe Root added a 195-run stand that completely put India out of the contest.
