AB de Villiers is one of the best foreign players to have ever played in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The legendary batter played for Delhi Capitals (DC) and for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and finished his IPL career by amassing over 5000 runs at a strike rate of over 150. While many experts say he is the greatest foreign player to ever play the game, the IPL trophy eluded him. However, the former Proteas stars gave many reasons for RCB and its fans to cherish for a lifetime.
Now, AB is in England and won the World Championship of Legends (WCL) League by beating Pakistan. On the sidelines of that event, the former RCB star was named in his all-time IPL XI, which featured an ensemble list.

De Villiers named Matthew Hayden and Rohit Sharma as his openers, while his long-time best mate Virat Kohli slots in at the number three position. Suryakumar takes the number four slot, ahead of AB himself. Hardik Pandya is the only all-rounder picked by the former South Africa player. At number seven, MS Dhoni is the wicketkeeper-batter as well as the leader of the side.
Chahal, Malinga, & Bumrah make AB de Villiers all-time XI
Speaking about the bowlers, AB picked his favourite spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah & Lasith Malinga as the bowlers. Alongside Chahal, the former RCB icon also named Daniel Vettori as the other spinner in the side. However, while many experts always pick AB in the all-time IPL XI, he strangely excluded himself.
