Sandeep Sharma suffered a fractured finger during the game against the Gujarat Titans, which has ruled him out for the remainder of the IPL 2025.
Rajasthan Royals faced a significant setback as their lead pacer, Sandeep Sharma, was confirmed to be sidelined for the rest of the competition, as announced by the management. They will announce a replacement soon.
"He showed immense bravery to continue bowling with this injury in the last match, and everyone at the franchise wishes him a full and speedy recovery," a Royals' release stated.Â

Sandeep Sharma sustained his injury while attempting to block a shot from Shubman Gill during his own bowling. After the incident, he received assistance from the physio and took some time to recover, but he managed to complete his spell in that match, where his team triumphed over the Gujarat Titans on their home ground.
Days later, he was announced as injured. Initially, it was expected that he would miss a few games, but it has now been officially confirmed that he will miss the remainder of the season. Sandeep started this season strong but became inconsistent in the later matches. Despite that, he finished the season with 9 wickets at an economy rate of 9.89. Akash Madhwal, who replaced him in the match against the Mumbai Indians, performed well.
RR gets Knocked out of the IPL 2025
Unfortunately, the Rajasthan Royals were knocked out of the IPL 2025. Their journey came to an end as they lost to the Mumbai Indians by 100 runs in a one-sided match. The RR bowlers struggled during the powerplay, and several mistakes in the field proved costly. MI's top four batsmen set a formidable total of 217 runs.
With Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult leading the bowling attack, the RR batters could only muster 117 runs in 16 overs. This defeat marked the end of RR's playoff hopes, with many matches being played without their captain, Sanju Samson, which contributed to their overall challenges and significant defeat in this IPL 2025.
